 Rebirth, retro, and XL

With the introduction of the retro mod, the reality is that Rebirth is becoming a real pain to host active games with 2 trackers to worry about - and 2 versions of Rebirth to deal with. I have always been a fan of trying to keep such things simple, and I am becoming irritated with over complicating a simple idea.

As a pilot who has little interest in ranked/competitive Descent these days (although occasonal tournaments are fun) I am wanting the simplicity back - so I want to consider hosting XL on the server.

Anyone else have a take on this?

I say we do it. The XL community and program itself needs some love in the multiplayer department. We have had troubles there before, but that's only because a 'certain someone' was here to wreck everything.

Not to mention we could help XL become a better program and help report whatever bugs lurk in the program so they can be fixed. Also, the ships seem to fly smoother, shots seem to hit so much more often compared to rebirth. And well, joining multiplayer games is not really a hassle.

This sounds like a great idea. ^^
